Hi Steve, The speaker pods are indeed from La Salle, some of their headlinings comes with speaker pods moulded in but I didn't want the overhead central DIN at the front, so opted for a plain headlining and added the speaker pods manually. They aren't too expensive. Each speaker is a 4" Alpine unit and not very deep however, they wouldn't sit flush when mounted so I had to use 2 x MUD 100mm shallow speaker rings on each one to lift them sufficiently so that nothing fouled at the back of them. I wasn't keen on the idea at first, I thought it would look odd but in the end it looks absolutely fine. My motto is, if you are going to do something, do it once, spend a bit more money, and do it right! http://www.mudstuff.co.uk/products/in-car-...allow.html 2016 D4 HSE 1998 110 TUM HS FFR Hard Top XD WOLF 1982 Series 3 SWB Petrol |

Yes, it was in the full enclosure; otherwise it would be wrecked lol. Ive got the previous Hero2 camera. Im guessing the sound is mostly coming through the vibes in the bodywork, maybe the tdi's are louder! Im going out this weekend to another P&P so will be doing more footage. You can see some other stuff ive done with the camera on youtube if you click my name. |

Here's the back door net I bought from MUD at the Donnington show, just need to black over the screw heads to complete.

![]() Just got my young lad into shooting and considering a Defender as the hunting/shooting/fishing vehicle. Couldn't dream of undertaking a project like this though ![]() |

Stu,
Thanks for the feedback, it makes all the hard work worthwhile, glad to have entertained. I'm no mechanic so all the stuff I did was easy enough for the average DIYer type. 2016 D4 HSE 1998 110 TUM HS FFR Hard Top XD WOLF 1982 Series 3 SWB Petrol |

As a new forum user, may I add how inspiring this thread has been...there's no way in the world I'd be able to do half as good as a job as you RRUK but you've definitely given me food for thought. Keep up your exemplary work!

I have a question for the thread followers:
![]() I was being followed one day by a Defender with 4 rectangular roof bar mounted lights like mine, but they were mounted the other way up to mine, so they were above the line of the windscreen rather than below it like on mine. This would be a simple change and I'm wondering if it would look better, what are your thoughts? 2016 D4 HSE 1998 110 TUM HS FFR Hard Top XD WOLF 1982 Series 3 SWB Petrol |

IMHO, I think they might look a little bit out of place, but your tastes may be different to mine, so it's up to you

in my humble opinion - stays as is looks more compact, neater and look practical. Think if you raised them it would be ' see my spot lights can ya' less is very much underrated.
