There are an awful lot of holes in that one. There doesn't look like there's a great deal of guard left Darren 110 USW BUILD THREAD - EXPEDITION TRAILER - 200tdi 90 BUILD THREAD - SANKEY TRAILER - IG@landroveranorak "You came in that thing? You're braver than I thought!" - Princess Leia |

Ditching my "standard" LR guard for a Nakatanenga (easier in Germany) one:
It's in the garage but I can't be ars*d to fit it until it gets a bit warmer Hopefully someone will buy the LR one and soften the blow to my wallet... Mine are galv and powdercoated black but they are also in ali etc. The German search term is "unterfahrschutz" - here is the page for steel (4mm plate, 8mm brackets): http://nakatanenga-tours.de/shop/article_U...ST4B-VZ%26 and for ali (6mm ali plate and 6mm steel brackets): http://nakatanenga-tours.de/shop/article_U...0ALC-EL%26 Just ask if Ze Cherman is Ze problem Matt Admin note: this post has had its images recovered from a money grabbing photo hosting site and reinstated Tell someone you love them today because life is short. I was going to powder coat mine also in black, presume you can do this to ali! trying to keep the weight down.
First Four ones still on top of my list, like the hole size, configuration with theirs. How to get one without wife noticing, may have to ask a mate to order them for me I'm going to put it under a Devon4x4 heavy duty bumper which has built in recovery eyes when funds allow. http://www.devon4x4.com/index.php?page=sho...;Itemid=14 The bumper is identical to the original just far better strength/quality, you can even put the bumper ends on it if you wanted to! It will all come in very useful on the school run Admin note: this post has had its images recovered from a money grabbing photo hosting site and reinstated Last edited by Zagato on 31st Jan 2012 2:39pm. At least the Nak. ones can be black - steel or ali.
p.s. I'm sure you know already but "powdercoated" = "pulverbeschichtet" and "primed" = "grundiert" Germans also sometimes use "passiviert" for anodised etc. Tell someone you love them today because life is short. But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing... |

i think the grille is just a trim down with a hacksaw job; the main problem is the metal panel below (is that still classed as the slam panel?). i'm sure a local metal worker (Alisport?) might be able to help. i would love to find a more detailled picture. |

Hmm, not sure what you mean by metal panel below. The grill frame is obviously a different part to the standard one. Apart from the recess for the pin, it doesn't appear to have an intercooler grill along the bottom either. I guess you could hack about a standard frame and grill, but it would take some work to make it look like it hadn't just been hacked about
The slam panel is the one across the top of the rad that the bonnet closes (or slams) down on to. The best pic I can find of an air-con fitted vehicle is this later one, but it seems to use a standard grill and different bumper, which doesn't help : Darren 110 USW BUILD THREAD - EXPEDITION TRAILER - 200tdi 90 BUILD THREAD - SANKEY TRAILER - IG@landroveranorak "You came in that thing? Why dont Ze Jermans just call them 'steering guards', then everyone would know what they were talking about? |
