Fog Machine when using aircon
Hi All

Used the aircon by accident this morning, and on the M4 the fog seemed worse than usual, eventually i worked out the fog was on the inside as well as outside, is it normal for the aircon to create a lot of condensation inside the cabin ? Or have a bought a fog machine Wink

Condensation gathers on the air-con matrix, the same condensation that stinks if it's left to stagnate,to remove condensation switch your air-con OFF and run the blowers for 5 minutes before switching off. Pov.spec,ftw. 2006, 110,TD5.

Check that your aircon drain plug isn't sealed shut.

If any moisture removed by the Aircon can't drain, you end up heating it and causing steam, it also usually overflows into the passenger footwell when it gets too full.

You'll find it above the gearbox in the transmission tunnel.

You won't see it, but force your hand up over the gearbox into the space in the tunnel and you should find a teat, squeeze it and you'll open the seal and probably get drenched.

It was one of the reasons that we got rid of the Jag XK as it has a similar drain pipe. Only problem is, Jag decided to make it inaccessible unless you remove the gearbox! Rolling Eyes Craig Rogers

Many thanks for the info, can I get to this teat with it on the ground, or does it need elevating at all ? This may be the issue as a rather interesting smell occurs also, i thought it was just Bath smelling as I passed junction 18 Rolling with laughter

Yes, you can get to it by lying underneath.

Plenty of space, but if it is sealed shut, be prepared to get a drenching! Smile Craig Rogers
