Hi vogue
Yes this is a known (not well ) random problem for the LH models. There is a bullettin that explains how to fix it - SSM39653 I can't find it in the GTR's english section (obviously ) but you can find it in dutch or french, anyway the fixing procedure is attached as an external document (in english) Some friends here in italy faced this problem but I don't know if someone tried to fix it on its own because a sort of a seal it's required. |

It's a problem for RH models too.
I took mine back to the dealer for this reason (my Mrs gets cold quicker than me and as hers is the cold side, it was causing problems!) They measured several other vehicles and they all read 2C colder on the LH side than the RH side - no fix offered. |

I suffer constant complaints from the passengers front and rear. I am constantly asked to turn down the airconditioning. I have a theory based on the right hand drive version: The warm air from the engine bay (and it gets quite hot) finds its way into the drivers side via the hand brake hole. Who would ever have thought that this would be an issue in a Defender. Mahn '08 Defender 110 ex '95 Disco 300 Tdi www.aulro.com |

I think you will need to refer back to the original Puma Test Files. A realisation occurred in Tromso, I think, that there was a need to keep the driver warm in sub zero conditions, whereas a culled Reindeer or Moose (in Canada) left in the rear of the vehicle or even in the passenger area would suffer from heat on a long drive back to the lodge. So, this was inbuilt at the time, and very effective it is too!

Added to the Defender2 gallery so it won't be deleted from elsewhere, and no annoying waiting: http://www.defender2.co.uk/gallery/albums/...er_fix.pdf
