Air Conditioning Question
I've had my new defender for 2 weeks now and thoroughly enjoying having it.

The one thing I have on this one over my last one is air conditioning. I have noticed that when you turn it down (not all the way to cool) to get some cooler air with the air con on it seems to blow cold air through the passenger side of the centre vents and warm air out the other side but this means that as the driver I don't really get the benefit from the cooler air.

Is this normal? Does anyone else have experience of this?

Thanks

Welcome to Defender world Laughing Puma Defenders have had issues with heater matrix not distributing warm air evenly left and right. I thought that they had fixed it in recent years, but apparently not Rolling Eyes

Scroll down in following thread, and on page 2 you will find what LR can do as a simple job to get it fixed Rolling with laughter
I have subsequently decided to live with the fact the heating blows warmer on my driver side than on the misses side. If you really bothered with it, surely someone on this forum can send you copy of LR fix instruction as the dealers received. Enjoy the car Thumbs Up

Thanks Eric. Yes the joys of Land Rover ownership. Laughing They wouldn't be the same if they were perfect. Confused

From reading the other post, I think I might just put up with it. Don't want my dash taken out if I can help it. My last defender had the dash removed and it was never the same, plus they scratched it all too. Big Cry

Cheers

That's what I thought when seeing the dashless defender pictures. Shocked
As in my LHD defender the problem is that the heater matrix directs more warm air to the passenger side than to the driver side, when I'm not alone I turn the heat as high up as required for the passenger to remain comfy, and then I turn on "the mexican airconditioning", i.e. turn down my driver side window some or more Thumbs Up
Still amazed that by now LR did not fix it for the current production, I know they have given their dealers a recommendation for solving the issue by blocking airflow thru part of the heater matrix. Dealers are asked to do this for customers who complain, I did, but when dealer said they would do it without a problem, but entire dash had to come out I told them to fogget about it Rolling with laughter You never actually own a Defender.
