Electric Window & Centra Lock Wiring
Hello Everyone,

Feeling the need for a little more comfort (no laughing!) on my "new" 2007 110 CSW, I am planning on installing electric windows and Central locking on my basic specs Ex-Spanish government truck.
Got most bits & parts, shop manual, wiring diagram, but i have not been able to find any references or part numbers for the wiring loom going between the doors wiring loom and the window front facia switch/ Alarm Control Unit.
If needed I will build the loom, but I can be lazy at times and I'd like to keep factory connectors.
A little voice tells me, that this part of the wiring only comes with main chassis wiring loom, and if your truck wasn't specified for fancy equipment then you didn't get it at the factory. Is it a correct guess? if not, anybody knows the part numbers? or where to find them? (not on any site with part numbers manual I have found).

My Alarm Control Unit supposedly doesn't support Central Locking, but I think it is only a matter of a couple of relays and wires missing, anybody in the know about modifications?

I will post my findings and installations pictures.

Cheers

Re: Electric Window & Centra Lock Wiring
There are no separate wiring harnesses to connect-up to the door harnesses, the wiring and connectors for this, are part of the main wiring harness when the additional options are fitted.

If the options weren't fitted by the factory, then the wiring and connectors won't be there for them.

However, it's not too difficult to make up your own looms, using compatible connectors where available and alternative connectors where they're not.

I may be able to supply you some factory connectors and terminals or, if I don't have them, I may be able to point you to a supplier.

The 10AS Alarm Unit can be modified into a 10AS Alarm/Central Locking Unit, see this excellent article by Espen S. Johnsen on how to do it -

Thank a lot Paul for the confirmation
Factory connectors won't be needed, as relays won't be factory and a new fuse box will be implemented (or maybe i can use the orignal one but the connectors for the fuses (window) are not there).
I will get the soldering iron and the box of crimp connectors out, after the Rustmaster guys are done and the door cards are still off.

If you need to add terminals to the fuse box for electric windows, have a look a this -

As long as the Brown/Grey trace wire from the Ignition/Auxiliary Relay to the fuse box is there, it should be easy to add the terminals to pick up a supply for electric windows.

Brillant! I will add terminals and get the windows fuses where they should be!
Looking at the wiring diagramm, I start to wonder about the real need for a relay for the windows (diagramm shows it is under the passenger seat). As the feed line are fused and the winding motors have thermal cutoff. Could I burn my dash switchs?
I am tempted to go with the facory connectors we mentioned earlier, could you provide the references or the products.
Thoses would be the female connectors connecting at the end of the door wiring looms.
both for electric winder ( 2 pins) and central lock (driver side has 4 pins, passenger side and rear door 2 pins).
And also connectors for the back of dash window switch.

Thanks

There are no relays in the window circuits, the switches switch the windows directly.

The relay you're referring to is switched by the ignition switch and interrupts the power to the electric windows when the igniton is off.

I have some of the door/main harness connectors, I'll see if I can identify the others.

The window switch connectors - I know what they are, but I can't find a part number or a supplier and I don't have any, although I may have some used or modified ones.

The window switches use the White connectors, I have a couple of Green and Black connectors, which can easily be modified to fit the window switches.

I'll post more later.

Electric window winders, Central locking mecanism and wiring harness installed in doors!
Up and Down, Up and Down: It's working beautifully. Very Happy
Just need to complete a clean wiring in the bulkhead and dashboard (switch connectors would be handy Wink )

Does anybody know what would be the reference or type of the relay missing in the 10AS unit circuit board (alarm/control lock) to get a fully working central lock.
I would just read the reference of the part if I could find a picture of the open guts of a "complete" 10AS unit.

Thanks

After a couple of months with the electric window power supply piggybacked on the cig lighter (fast and dirty). I will finally wire everything properly, installing fuse on their "normal" places.
I was just wondering, before removing the dash, where will I find the Ignition/Auxiliary Relay to feed power to the new window fuse wiring (I just like a battle well planned!).
Thanks

I followed the excelent instructions and bought an after market relay off ebay - however it would have been easier to rob one out of an old 10as out of a disco or similar...........
