No problem. Your taco should have a potentiometer screw on the side maybe dip switches on the rear to adjust the idle speed and needle sweep. Idle should be about 750rpm on a tdi and max out around 40 ...

Please ignore the state of the terminals (I'll clean them up today), can someone please tell me which one is the "W" terminal for attaching a tacho? Obviously not the top one but I'm unsure ...
