Looks like I spoke to soon. When I swapped the bulbs it worked but just gone out to start up and now no headlights at all. Presumably what every caused the other bulb to blow has now blown this one. ...

Was the bulb, doh! I clearly don't know how check the bulb properly.

[edit] Found the main relay now (No#4 from link) and have checked that and looks fine as well.

Thanks. I had seen this post but wasn't sure if the relay is the issue given the high beam is okay as well as the other headlamp as it looks like they would be shared.
