I installed rivnuts and held the aluminium plate in place with M6 dome headed stainless screws. I am not too far from you. Where did you go for powder coating?

Could have done, but stupidly removed the grease nipple to make sure it wasn't blocked and couldn't get it back in with the prop shaft in situ.

Thanks for sharing your experiences.

Just had a similar problem myself - could not get grease into the front UJ on the rear prop shaft.

Removed the shaft and soaked the offending UJ in hot water ...

Cleaning out the back of the Defender I noticed galvanic corrosion around ...
