Transfer box exchange is fairly straight forward - unitil I got to that bit - I was thinking U joint bearings had gone. Might still be worth a look.

GKN overdrive or Q gears..??
Don't know which would be better - I know which would be cheaper. I am tempted to go for the Ashcroft's conversion, don't know anyone who has had it done.
