I had the same problem with my TD5 in 30+ Degs, particularly loss of power going up hills.
It would struggle for a while and be OK, especially if I turned the Aircon off.

I run my BGF's
Front 1.9 bar
Rear 2.3 bar
On gravel/dirt roads I drop them by 0.4 bars.
On sand and most mountain trails (loose scree etc) we would drop them to 1 bar all round.

First point is, do you really need a winch?
Ensure you get some training for using a winch. Winches are a useful tool but use incorrectly can be dangerous.

After further investigation it became obvious that the roof section bolts connecting it to the body had come loose....Has anybody else had this problem with a newish vehicle?
