Check engine loss of power sometimes
So I have a 2020 defender 110 with 52k miles.
every now and then it looses power press the gas and it slowly works it’s way to speed if I pull over turn the car off and restart it boom it’s back to normal strong take off. Then after that journey is over on the next restart it goes back to sluggish mode. Sometimes sluggish mode lasts for two trips and the check engine light comes on for 24 hours. Then goes off. The app says emissions problem.
it went in for service to fix the uneven HVAC
and I told them about this. They fixed HVAC but the road test was fine and no check engine light.
I feel like it’s the turbo working or not working ?
anyone else this issue or ideas?

hello, you have not specified which engine we are talking about, a diagnosis with instrumentation is essential for a problem of this type. There could be many causes...... When the yellow engine light comes on, your car goes into protection, therefore reduced power. Among the most common causes: dirty or faulty throttle valve, dirty egr valve, faulty sensor, etc….I don't see a relationship with HVAC. Surely in the dealership by interrogating the fault memory they can have an idea of the problem.

4 cylinder turbo
how do I clean dirty throttle valve?

so when it looses power after an hour the check engine light comes on
then after a couple of ignition on and offs. back to normal power
but check engine light stays on for 24 hours then goes off all weird

I only mentioned HVAC because it was in for service for a faulty malfunction of HVAC in heat mode.

SO I guess ill try and hit dealer when engine light is on and in lower power mode
and not turn off car see if someone can hook up asap but that's a long shot
these dealers are so backed up with service.

hello, the defect as an error should remain in memory, did the dealer tell you that they did a computerized diagnosis and there were no errors? it seems very strange to me.
In your place I would immediately go to the dealership and have the diagnosis connected, complaining about the serious problem.

Cheers

Marco

So after the dealer read the code it said Fuel Pump LOW CIRCUT
now I have an appoint meant Aug 22 for them to tear apart and see what's up

SO sometimes I drive and it's fine. some sometimes the throttle is super slow to respond
if I pull over and restart the car its fine again. Then it comes back then I pull over turn off and on and it's fine.
Any ideas?
I'll also keep you posted. the dealer said the seats have to come out to inspect
so they needed 2 days so I waited for a date they have a loaner .
52k miles I did buy some extended warranty lets see how that goes
