Ah Ok I see the problem now. Get yourself a couple of penny washers to go between the AN fitting and the Dowty washer. Add the thread sealant and a ring of sealant between the AN fitting and the washer. It is not pretty but it will work.
The other option is to swap out the An fitting for a different brand - https://www.amazon.co.uk/Mishimoto-MMSPF-1...PMQAvD_BwE |

I spoke to Dave at Ashcrofts he’s away on his jolly’s, but said he’d reply with some info when he gets back about their kit.

Thanks geo they look better suited. The an -8 section should be the same as the torques uk fittings I assume?
I’ve ordered the sealant |

No problem. Yes the AN-8 section will be the same as AN is a standardised fitment. Let us know how you get on

Just realised they dont sell a 8an to m20 from mishimoto with the big flange. Ill wait for my crush washers to arrive and potentially if theyre a good fit use them with the sealer. If not ill order replacement fittings from pioneer and hope they fit the dowtys better

Well the install is done. I’ve fired it up with the transfer box in neutral and run through the gears a couple of times opened the filler and topped up, done this twice but didn’t get any extra in on the second go. Yet to road test it.
I ended up buying some m20 to an -8 fittings from pioneer in the end, he was a pretty good price, probably should’ve got them from there in the first place. Then the dowty washers worked fine. I pre filled the rad bending the pipes up into the engine bay and using a smaller pipe in my gearbox oil syringe filled it up. Made it one hell of a messy job connecting it all up and bolting it to the gearbox but I think most of it stayed in. Got approx 1 litre extra of fluid in. One nightmare was nipping up the pipes onto the take off block is impossible from underneath. I bolted them to the block under the car then bolted the block to the gearbox but holding the block and doing up the fittings I didn’t have enough purchase so in the end had to strip out the interior and lid the transmission tunnel. it was worth doing though as I got a fair bit extra on the top fitting. Here’s a couple of pictures, apologies I got carried away with mods before I cleaned it after the Pyrenees trip. Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge |

I’ve got a 750 mile day of towing the penman across France at the end of august. Hopefully the 380 will appreciate it and maybe if I’m really lucky it will help the cabin temperatures a bit too.

we added one to my dads 200 TDI, with him towing, He never said it made any difference at all. So i take it, it wasn't worth the add on, but my mam has noticed the gearbox getting hot though. I have the bigger sump on my transfer box and a temperature sensor in it I’ve just got back from Croatia and in temperatures of 37c on the motorway the temperature was into the high 90c with long runs. I’m going to fit a cooler for next summer

That is what I found as well and why I fitted the cooler.
