Orkney mulls over leaving UK to join up with Norway

Do you think this could really happen?

I'd suggest banging of drums, rattling of sabres in the form of interviews and press releases to the media in hopes of bringing attention to their cause, thus making the UK say "“Oh please don’t go... ...we love you so!”

Hence, don't see it happening but hoping the threat and attention it gains will go so way to having their complaints answered.

They could always do what other countries have done and sell out to China, I’m sure Sturgeon would love a Chinese navel base to help her independent cause…

I think they'd be happy to settle for direct funding from London. Leaving Scotland, not UK.

That said, the Orkney council struggle to arrange recycling collection (what's glass?), dread to think how they'd manage with anything else.

May be England should have a referendum on whether WE want Scotland or even Orkney, should stay !!!

Anyway I thought Cornwall was next to try and leave the UK.

Haven't the Orkneys historically been part of Norway longer than they have been tied to the UK?

Perhaps England should now consider leaving the UK. This is all bonkers, are leaders of these countries on personal quests to make life difficult for themselves.

Surely with what’s going on around the world we are stronger as one Ride like you stole it!!
