In response to some who think I should just suck it up and be happy, thats not in my nature.
The fact that it broke is just a LR thing that we accept, but what I can't accept is the shoddy unprofessional service and the way I've been treated. Calling for an update to be told I don't have any news is not acceptable. From my first call that day to when I finaly spoke to the right person was over 3 hours. Surely he could of obtained an update in that time. Even if it was, we're still working on it. But to get a I don't know is proper poor. The person dealing with my vehicle has told me on several occasions not to call as email is the best way to get hold of them. Now that just smacks of I can't be arsed to talk to you, send an email and I'll answer it when I can be bothered. Which this week seems to be I'm not bothered at all. As for same loan vehicle, yes I did get a Defender, and mine being an SE, the X Dynamic I was loaned is not to the standard of my car. No towbar available, no cooled seats, small things I know, but I paid for them so want to use them. In the mini heatwave having no cooled seats is an issue. And this weekend I'm supposed to be going away with the caravan, but no towbar has stopped that. So I'm out the money for the campsite, which to be fair isn't a lot but it's more the weekend away and I'm out £500 for the loss of. days wages from the day of the breakdown. To say I'm not happy with this dealership is a complete understatement. Once I have my car back, I'll be lodging a formal complaint against them. Why should I suffer financially because of their incompetence. I emailed again on Tues this week for an update, again I stated in my email, even if there is no news a response is still requested. And now 36 hrs later, still no response. My new alternator should of been with the dealer first thing this morning, surely wether it turned up or not warrants an update? 110 D250 SE HT 110 USW SOLD RRE HSE Dynamic Gone, wife killed it VOLVO XC60 R Dynamic with some toys Polaris RZR 900XP SOLD |

I think your complaint about the lack of cooled seats in the loan vehicle is possibly a bit unrealistic but the lack of a towbar is a stinker, l suppose you asked them to provide a towbar (or a vehicle with one) and they couldn't?
That would make me really fed up if l missed a holiday, although the caravan site should allow you to cancel you might lose your deposit. lt doesn't fill me with confidence about my local dealer. Hopefully l won't need to use their services. Last edited by lightning on 30th Jun 2023 7:26am. Edited 1 time in total |

I'm not selling it now, so not an issue, and in the grand scheme of things the offer when I got it would have been swallowed up quickly elsewhere. Eiger Grey MY23 D250 SE with bits. Known as Noddy. |

l am being offered around 5k over list price for my 2022 HT from my local independent LR specialist. They say there's a strong demand for the HT certainly in this area.
However "Frida" my Tasman Blue 90 HT is not for sale. What would l replace her with? l couldn't go back to an old type Defender after seven months with a new one. Although l would love to own one as a second vehicle and l will, when the right one comes up. |

My point when I spoke to the lady who called after my less than perfect review was onside with me. She even said, you've paid for all the extras on your car and you want to use them. So as far as I can see, it's a valid point of complaint. As for holiday, site wouldn't refund as it is a small site and not part of CAMC or C&CC. So in the end had a mate tow the caravan there for me and tow it back. A real pain, but this is when you find out who your friends are. Despite receiving the email from dealership about parts being in and workshop time booked for Friday. I had a call from a technician at 1730 on Friday, asking questions about the issues while he uploaded the info to the system. He wasn't sure the part would be fitted on Friday and could possibly be fitted on Monday (today). The service rep that is dealing with my vehicle has only 1 job to do. Thats to manage my expectations of good service and keep me informed. I can honestly say they have failed on both accounts. 110 D250 SE HT 110 USW SOLD RRE HSE Dynamic Gone, wife killed it VOLVO XC60 R Dynamic with some toys Polaris RZR 900XP SOLD |

So what's actually wrong with your Defender, did you say the alternator?
When mine went in for a hose that was rubbing on the air filter housing, it came back with a description of how the hose had been "replaced and re-routed" l had a look and it was exactly the same! l am not taking it back again, l've put a cable tie round it to stop it touching. So still no word on when mine is being returned.
I called the dealership on Sunday. I have the guardian thing set on the app so I could see when the car was moved in and out of the workshop. Just to ensure it tracked with what I was being told. Anyway, called Sunday as guardian told me the car was unlocked. Which was a surprise as it was supposed to be inside the workshop. Anyway, spoke to sales team as workshop was closed and no team members were in to talk to me. But I was assured that it wasn't stolen. First thing Monday I had a call which I missed due to work but that was followed moments later asking me to put "service mode on". Apparently the technician needed me to do it before he could complete further works. This I think is a bit fishy, they've only asked me to do it, to stop me tracking the movement and opening/closing/locking of my car. Can anyone confirm that if I put it in service mode it opens up access for the workshop to do stuff to my car that they couldn't if it wasn't in service mode. I thought service mode just meant that I wouldn't keep being told the car was open, etc etc. So yesterday marked 28 days of them having my car so I raised a glass lastnight to celebrate the milestone in time. The issue with my car is the alternator, they called it something completely different but when I asked what it was they just said, oh in plain speak its the alternator. 110 D250 SE HT 110 USW SOLD RRE HSE Dynamic Gone, wife killed it VOLVO XC60 R Dynamic with some toys Polaris RZR 900XP SOLD |

Sorry for your pain, but as I follow this thread I feel so blessed not having to deal with any garage (and I own 5 cars).
All these newfangled features and system sound like a handful especially if you are dealing with parties who's primary motivation is profit for their shareholders. It's an interesting forum this: On one side you have people gloating about their latest all option ticked Defender arrival date and on the other you have Tdi/Td5/Puma owners who share information on how to work on their pride and joys. |

l wouldn't say "gloating" was the correct term to use.
l certainly didn't gloat when my Defender arrived. Sure l was pleased, but l never even put it on facebook! Or tweeted. Anyhow, Puma owners would do well to be friends with their local independent Land Rover specialist, less so the TD5 although the ECU's are starting to fail more regularly on those now. |

Forgot to mention, they have sorted the wearing top hose issue.
Not sure how. Wether it's just the hose replaced, refitted to ensure the correct spacing or it's with the new airbox with the flat front. I await in anticipation of their work. And excuses if its not a new airbox 110 D250 SE HT 110 USW SOLD RRE HSE Dynamic Gone, wife killed it VOLVO XC60 R Dynamic with some toys Polaris RZR 900XP SOLD |
