Check your brake fluid level. IIRC it's a dual purpose light. Darren

According to the handbook not only does this light indicate when your handbrake is engaged, it also indicates that your brakefluid needs topping up or you have a problem with the EBD (Electronic Brake Distribution system if fitted). So check your brake fluid level first of all. If that is o.k. it must be a fault with the EBD, which is a garage job to check. 1982 88" 2.25 diesel

In that case it must be an indicator that your brake fluid is low. That brake pads could be nearing the end of their life so get them checked. The fluid level will drop if the pads get very low. 1982 88" 2.25 diesel
