Now that the wren chick has fledged from its nest in the rear crossmember and I've removed the wasps nest at the other end of the cross member, I can get her ready for her 2nd last MOT!!
She's off for a chassis up rebuild at the end of the year so just need enough done to get me through the summer laning season Click image to enlarge |

05kd63 went off for her rebuild today. Will see her back in the spring looking all nice and new again

Work progressing at pace now. Axles stripped, repainted and going back together now.

Yep, I did look at a new galvanised chassis but this one, like my Red Arrows lightweight, has some provenance so wanted to keep as much of the original truck as possible.
It went into service in March 1985 and is the 3rd from last lightweight built (the red one being the last). Almost everything on it is original, the only things being replaced are the doors as there is a bit of rust on the frames and a couple of dings. Just need to decide which one will trailer the other to the shows now |
