Hey folks. I have been struggling to get side steps that will work on my 89' Defender. I bought a pair of Fire and Ice that were supposed to fit and they do not. Now trying to find a set that will. According to LR parts - whom I emailed -, these Britpart ones should fit: https://www.lrparts.net/da4101-side-steps-...pair.html. However... there is not much info on them. Does anyone have any insight and or recommendations for side steps?

Would love to see a photo. My Fire and Ice came with ZERO instructions, and I have scoured the web with no luck. How did you solve the gas tank issue? Mine is a right-hand side gas tank... and welding is required to make the steps work? Thank you for the help 1989 Defender 90

Dohhh forgot the fuel tank. Indeed that is so close to the sill.
Maybe I was not clear, the side steps are on the 2012 90, fuel tank in the rear. For the 88 model I am restoring, planning to fit rock sliders, just to protect the sides if in car parks. Rock sliders generally bolt to the bulkhead to outrigger bolt and into the tubular outrigger that supports the front of the tub. Sorry if I mislead you. I can get photos from the 2012 in week and a half as away from them unfortunately. 1988 90 Hard Top, 19J Diesel Turbo, Shire Blue - Restoration ongoing 2012 90 CSW, 2.2TDCI, Santorini Black |
