Could the loss of power be related with the fuel system? even though the sensation i get when driving is that there is no boost, i can hear the turbo spooling and with the OBDlink monitor app i see it gets up to 15 PSI every time i go on the pedal, i have checked everywhere for leaks, i have also pressurized the system to see if i could hear any air leaks with some piping and a bycicle tyre valve like i saw in another thread. The turbo actuator also seems to be working fine.

Yes, it could. This kind of problem in the absence of DTCs is usually suggestive of a VCV fault. Try monitoring the fuel rail pressure to see if it is erratic and drops when the problem occurs.
As a general rule, on a 2.4 if you have any kind of rough running, misfire, stalling, or loss of power symptoms and there are no relevant DTCs, suspect the VCV. |

If it’s not the vcv, because the dealer fitted a genuine one ( as long as they fitted a gen one, it has been known for dealers to fit non gen parts ) Could it be turbo actuator wiring as the harness can suffer chafing ? Worth having a good look.

I have recently replaced the VCV for OEM one. Could it be the pressure sensor on the rail or the pressure release valve? Also how do i monitor the pressure ? Thanks for the response

Thanks ianh, the wiring harness looks fine, i dont know how to further inspect it, should i just order that section from the harness and replace it?

Most diagnostic tools have the capability to monitor various engine parameters in real time, usually including fuel rail pressure. It could be the FRP sensor or the FR PRV but these are less likely than the VCV, and it is not unknown for new VCVs to be defective (especially as the world is awash with counterfeit Denso valves at the moment). Where did you buy the VCV you fitted? "OEM" means different things to different suppliers, unfortunately. |

Thanks Blackwolf, the VCV was ordered from the dealership.. i have the obdlink but i can only monitor the fuel flow speed, i will look into that.

Ive managed to monitor the fuel rail pressure with the torque app and its running at
6000-7000 PSI @ idle, 6800-7300 PSI @ 1500 RPM 7100-8000 PSI @ 2500 RPM |
