Yup - getting pricey!

However, just to make you feel better, I am just back from a business trip to Milan. The Italian fuel is EURO 1.56 / litre ... and they are all queuing to panic-buy because the delivery drivers are threatening industrial action Shocked

It does make you think about that unnecassary journey tho... Defender "Puma" 2.4 110 County Utility (possibly the last of the 2.4's)

The worst is when you fill it right up, pay, come back out, and is piddling on the forecourt!

Just filled mine tonight at BP. £78 for 54 litres Sad which is working out at 26mpg. Not to bad when I consider I'm lucky to get 21mpg with our other car. Big Cry

Heard on the radio yesterday, in the UK we have the cheapest pre-duty prices, but once the gov't add their slice of the cake, we end up with one of the most expensive fuel.

Yes, we pay around 160% tax in the UK on fuel at the pumps. Well more like 70% actually... Feels like 160%.

20 mpg? Sounds particularly low.

I'm just about to change out a 3.9 on LPG for a Td5 in my 90. Even with the auto I'm expecting (OK, hoping!) to average 24 mpg. That is based on what I'm told by Pat at Maddison 4x4 and also my own experiences driving a similar one I got to test drive for a couple of days - and that was on big Simex tyres and had not been fully set up right on the autobox, so should be slightly better on my smaller ATs with a fairly standard engine map and a good set up on the Compushift.

With 24 mpg will work out about the same to run as the V8 on LPG, but it will be a whole lot more convenient to fill up less times a week and have more choice of where I fill up! OK, I won't re-coup the cost of the conversion to diesel, but it will give me a better all rounder for commuting and overlanding.....
