DRL's
l was trying to turn off the DRL's on my Defender.

You can turn them off, but it seems they don't really want to. The first time you turn
them off, they come back on after about 20 seconds of driving. Then if you turn them off again immediately, they stay off.

lf you delay, the switch won't turn them
off at all.

You didn't get this with my old Defender!

I thought the whole point of the DRL’s is that they are on all the time and could not be turned off?

Not sure why you would want to turn them off? Gas, Grass Or Ass - Nobody Rides For Free

"UNDERSTEER" ----is when you hit the fence with the front of the car.
"OVERSTEER" ------is when you hit the fence with the rear of the car.
"HORSEPOWER" ----is how fast you hit the fence.
"TORQUE" -----------is how far you take the fence with you.

Theatrically you are not supposed to be able to turn off DRL's on UK spec cars. On VW's you can use VCDS to add an additional item to the lighting set-up menu which allows them to be switched off so maybe something similar here? Now sold: 2023 Defender 90 D250 X-Dynamic SE (Eiger Grey).

lf l turn the light switch past the side light position to "off" the DRL's go off.

Then they come back on, but if you do it again they stay off for that journey.

Sometimes, the switch won't turn them
off unless you are stationary. lt's almost like you are fighting against the computer which says "you can't turn these off"

Normally l leave them on, l would just like the option to turn them
off.

They are off when in park, but once in gear they come on. On my 3 Defenders and all previous LRs with them there’s never been an option to switch them off, unless configured through the vehicle software then they’re off completely.

Side lights and the DRLs use the same part of the headlights only ones brighter than the other, sounds like the side lights are being switched off, I think briefly there’s no light on, then the DRLs will come on.

I could be way off the mark though! 24MY 90 D250 HSE, Tasman Blue
