They do restrict flow which is why I made 3.5" one for my 110 and my D2 + ITG pleated high flow filters and custom air boxes. The 110 had a 300tdi style airbox from wrecker fab 3.5" all way to the turbo.

D2 has a total custom box, 3.5" snorkel hidden in the wing and 4" to the turbo.

Not too adventurous:
1. Storm Stage 2 tune.
2. EGR delete.
3. Silicone hoses.
4. Air box - removed inner restrictions.
5. Boost tweak - with gauge to monitor.
6. Tried straight through centre section/cherry bomb/sports... just too boomey inside a hard top... even with loads of soundproofing... so now on standard exhaust.
7. Replacement intercooler... limited by Auto cooler.
8. Auto box, with larger torque converter + 1.2:1 transfer box.

Will cruise easily at 70mph all day, nice a quietly!

Dropped my truck off at Alive today for power and suspension goodness!

An initial dyno run showed 180 bhp on stock turbo and their stage 2 tune from a few years ago.

I also have a safari snorkel. After the GTB450 is installed they are going to test it on the dyno with and without the snorkel to check the airflow. Worst case is to unclip where the snorkel feeds into the airbox.. and remember to fasten it again if I ever go wading through deep water!!

I'll update next week when I know the results...

Mine was fine with the safari and the 450 on the dyno. Hopefully yours will be the same

what's the MPG like with the stage 2? I am tempted at doing mine, or maybe the stage 3.

Mapping hasnt got much to do with the MPG especially on a 2.5t brick. Its more how you drive unless you delve into the level of tune mine is and yes the MPG does fall a fair bit. 27mpg stock to 23mpg as it stands around town, however improved on long mway trips had 30mpg+ Instagram @defender_ventures

Empire dual map tune here
Demand exhaust with centre sports silencer
Bas intercooler
Custom 3” intake pipe
Full silicone hoses

Only had the map done recently and she goes like stink now Very Happy

As people have mentioned mpg I recently did a 120mile motorway trip at 65mph and got 32.8mpg which was a new record for me.

I'm in Ireland so I will be dealing with a European tuner, Brexit is a nightmare for us getting anything from the UK now unfortunately.

There’s plenty of tuners and a few Alive agents in Ireland, this is rallying and racing country after all.

Allisport ones are very high quality and very well made by SFS Engineering who do them for 30% less... Samco also quality

I’ve got bas intercooler hoses that I bought with the intercooler and the full set of Roose motorsport coolant hoses. Having compared my friends allisport top coolant hose to the Roose motorsport ones they were identical so I imagine they’re the same just with different branding.
