Coolant leak and dealer repair time

Hi all

We’ve got an issue with the coolant leaking, it’s from a Crimp connector on the pipe work after the coolant res, had LR assistance out and if they had the correct tool would have repaired it on the road side. Anyway they didn’t so said it would need to go into the local dealer, now this is where it all gets a bit annoying. The dealer is mad busy and they are quoting 2-4 weeks for a repair! I think it would only take 30mins max to carry out the repair so I’m a bit frustrated. I’ve got a LR loan car in the mean time so it’s not like I’m without but I’m slightly fed up given it’s such a small job, and you’d think they would be able to turn it round fairly quickly.
Am I being unreasonable or should I complain to landrover? The car is only 8mths old and done 4K miles.

Have you another dealership nearby that could do it quicker? 2020 Defender 110 SE 240D: Fuji White.

2-4 weeks is pretty quick these days sadly.

Why not repair it yourself, remove the "one use" crimp connector and put a worm drive or Jubilee clip on instead.

Time taken, ten minutes if that. Make sure it's a genuine "Jubilee" branded because the aftermarket ones often have a bulge on the inside where the worm drive is located.

I am surprised LR Assist couldn't do that, maybe it's a warranty issue that you have to fit the correct "one use" crimp type.
