my partner has howling moon awnings for her 110, a long one on the side and a short one for the back, and they are very robust with the side walls as well ..
They are quick to put up and away and mount with a ‘sail slide’ system so are flush to the rack. Thanks Wyvern, the howling moon awnings look to be competitively priced, do the wall sections completely enclose the awning area with a zip up hole for access to the vehicle or is it open/ missing a wall on the vehicle side?

The Howling Moon awnings are great quality & will last.
I'll be putting my 2.5 awning with walls & front panel up for sale shortly. Think sides have window panels in them & front has the door. Think ive only used the walls & front twice. |

I have a simple tarp from DD Hammocks, some guy ropes and some extendable locking poles. This gives me the option of setting up on either side of the vehicle or just off the rear. This doesn’t really answer your question but I thought it might introduce some lateral thinking. There are numerous different ways of erecting a tarp to provide shelter from sun wind and rain. My set up cost around £80 all in.

If you can get/afford a self supporting awning then go for that. The roll out, slide out arms and legs versions (I have an ARB 2mx2.5m side awning on Miffy) are cumbersome to do solo as they are longer than your arms are able to stretch out. Tricky to do on a calm day... "interesting" and "challenging" on a breezy day.
I really wish I had held on to my old Hannibal self supporting awning  |

Thanks for the suggestions guys, keep them coming. I could really do with a full room with 4 sides with access to the vehicle side as I intend to fit to my trailer with the roof tent on so we can hop out of the tent and into the awning without going outside.

Got howling moon on one side with walls no issue very robust over 10years abuse …. Use a ridge pole in middle to stop water pooling …..
