That's the bearing that sits in the middle of the Flywheel?

Are you sure that you lined up the splines on the gearbox and the clutch properly? If they're binding / misaligned then it could explain your symptoms about slackening off the bolts. Ed

Well I managed to separate the engine from the GB again today, I do have some play on the pinion shaft that goes from the GB to the engine, it seems to be in and out play, can this be the culprit?
I will remove the clutch and the pressure plate from the engine tomorrow and take a better look. I will take some photos also and upload them for you guys to see. |

If you put pressure onto the shaft by hand can you exhibit the same locking up behaviour. It might be that the play is preventing the selectors engaging properly. It's been a long number of years since I've pulled apart a gearbox but there is normally a big of side to side play which is why you have the oillite bush in the end of the crankshaft to support it. Yes you are right, with the engine removed I can turn the input shaft freely with my hand when the truck in neutral so this tells me the GB is fine I guess.
I will remove the clutch and pressure plate shortly to see what's going on in there. My money is on something lodged in between the clutch and the flywheel preventing the rotation of the engine from happening once the engine and the GB are mated. |

Looking at your other post I wonder if the broke bits of the spigot bearing jammed the input shaft. I'd replace that first and take it from there. Ed

Ye that's what I think I'm going to do, Dinnu is saying the broken bush shouldn't cause the engine to seize when it's mated to the GB but some other guys are saying if any of the pieces get in between the shaft and the crank it will seize up...
So I just think I will replace the bush and go back up hoping for the best. |
