Stone chips
After only 4,000 miles (in my D250 Commercial) l've noticed that the plastic trim pieces in front of the rear wheel arches are already covered in tiny stone chips.

l am surprised stones can get to these parts as l have the classic mud flaps fitted.

The plastic parts are cheap and easy to replace, but there's not much point if they only last 4,000 miles before looking like this.

l've just fitted side steps, so l'll replace the plastic parts this time and see if the side steps make any difference.

Get them touched up then get some patches of PPF cut - Tesla’s suffer the same issue and now come with PPF on the rear doors and leading edge of the rear wheelarches. My Mini Cooper also suffers from this but not my Defender as it’s already got clear gloss PPF on the front, bonnet and both sides up to the window line - I also had the same on the previous L663 110. Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come
2020 D240 1st Edition in Pangea Green with Acorn interior. Now gone - old faithful, no mechanical issues whatsoever ever but the leaks and rattles all over the place won’t be missed!

Can’t say I noticed much on my first 90, the colour coding on my 110 XS seemed to hold up through the winter. Not sure how the gloss Black trim on my current 90 X-Dynamic will hold up.

But thanks to some muppet in a Blue BMW, I now have scuffs and a very slight dent in my passenger door, after they opened their door onto mine. 24MY 90 D250 HSE, Tasman Blue

That's so annoying

A mobile dent repair company should be able to fix that and buff out the scratch

l've ordered new rear plastic pieces, they are £60 each.

l've since fitted side steps so hopefully they will help to protect the plastic from further stone chips!

You didn't get this with the old model Defender.....

But it was uniformly rusty, so you never noticed things like this.
