look closely at these. They are alloys, 20" and with tyres on, not many people would know the difference. |

I reckon because of the way they are made, it will be practically impossible the prevent rust forming in that seam. It’s always going to come back. Powder coat might make it look nicer for longer, but it’ll still be festering under there and probably be worse when it does show through again.
Seeing as you have a spare set, if it were me I’d swap them over then get the originals professionally blasted and carefully DIY prep them for paint myself with rust converter and a rust stabilising primer. The advantage of that is you can be very thorough and take as much time you like. Then depending on your inclination/ability you can have them wet painted white again by a body shop or do it yourself. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS |

Those alloys look great but at £400 each without tyres l can't stretch to them, certainly not this year.
l'll try the ACF50 and if that doesn't work l will try getting them refinished. You'd think it would be possible to make wheels last more than six months without rusting. UPDATE! Sprayed all the seams with XCP (which is similar to ACF50) as recommended above. l will see if it stops the rust. |
