Do you already have a design drawn up for what you want? I only ask because assuming you just want to clamp the lights to the grill, it looks like it could be easily solved with some short lengths of flat aluminium bar and a handful of rivnuts. Or even just nuts and bolts if it's easy to get behind the grill. Darren

Since the area behind the grill is hard to access I came up with a design that the face screws self tap into the 3D printed bracket. I'd prefer to do this without removing the bumper. I think it can be done...with a lot of patience.
Yes I have drawn up a design but need to have it printed and/or converted to a file that can be 3D printed. |

Nice fogs !
They are recessed but with surround and scew inputs on front. Makes it in this location not easier. Remove your front bumper, make sturdy brackets behind. Make your wireloom with connectors so much easier for next time to remove your front bumper. Avoid blocking your cooling in the middle and maybe they can be seen on your front camera. Look at my mod for mounting and wireloom, https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic81992.html No Mud flaps for my 90.! ----------------------------------------- P300 S MY21 on air, adv.+ offroad pack, DRL+fog, Dinamica Suedecloth + Ebony headliner/Cross Beam- Many Mods.. |

Impressive install. If I were to do it again I’d move the lights more to the side of the grill. Having said, the current setup does not affect front camera and the lights are more or less flush with the grill. I already had a small cutout from the previous smaller Diode Dynamics fog lights. Wiring looms were already completed so it was just a swap of the lights.
Lights are currently zip tied to the grill but it is only temporary. Once I fit the brackets it will look custom. Already have a design just need to get it printed somewhere. Last edited by GEOVentures on 2nd May 2023 3:47pm. Edited 3 times in total |

There are loads of places online, just search for 3d print service. I would offer to print them for you and post, but it would take ages for your to receive them and I am only printing in pla, where I guess you will want abs or something else quite strong.
How about these guys: https://www.hubs.com/3d-printing/canada/ |

Thanks. I should have referenced that I have drawn a design with measurements. Most 3D print services requires files sent in CAD format. Thanks for your help.

I'm located in the UK, but i can help with both converting your drawings to CAD file and printing of parts although shipping might be an unwanted expense. Either way happy to help where i can 1989 90 4.3 V8

Ah, apologies, I had misinterpreted your requirements. I was going to offer to draw your part in fusion 360 (which is free for home use, if you wanted to have a play with it yourself) but it sounds like Defendermatt has beat me to it, and would probably do a better job than me - I am not a particularly good draftsman, but can do basic stuff.
Sounds like it would probably be best to have someone 3d model your design and then get a price to have it printed locally. |

Looks like I might have the pieces CNC machined. A friend said he can easily make a 1/4" flat retaining bracket with self tapping holes for the bolts. Simplifies the design and just as effective.
Thanks Gents. Once sorted I will take pics and post. I will express that the lights are a good investment if you need additional lighting. They are very powerful with a good cutoff not to blind other drivers. |
