Yes, had this problem several times. Dealer replaced the whole thing under warranty eventually when I kicked up merry hell in the showroom after they fobbed me off and pretended they’d sorted it.
The replacement has rusted as well, so I’m back where I started. I’ve given up with the dealer though as A. they’re incompetent and B. the fact is that it’s a s**t design and prone to it. I’m going to fit a proper fixed multi-height towbar instead as that will not suffer the issue and will give me confidence when towing. |

No issues with ours, l spray everything with WD-40 from time to time.

I spray mine with GT85, silicon based. WD-40 is 'sticky' to dirt and dust, I am told ?? |
