the wife's RRS is now 12 years old, costs a bit more in terms of repairs, but if our Defender goes
as long, as it is our last major motor purchase, then 12 years is long enough..in fact 10 and i will be more than happy yet another pommie bar steward down under MY20 110 P400 SE Defender MY10 3.0 RR Sport |

Click image to enlarge My vehicle is still going strong after 124 years. So simple its ultimately repairable. These new fangled electronic gizzmo's not so much. Or all of the complex plastic moulding of the both the exterior and interior. 10-15 years max lifespan. |

It is ironic that it will still be going strong long after infernal combustion engines (including those in hybrid vehicles) have ceased to be usable. I imagine that the problem eventually will become the fuel, the current antipathy to coal mining does not bode well for anyone in the heritage sector.
Nearly all traditional steam relies upon carbon in some form, usually hydrocarbon. It's probably allowed in all the UK low and ultra-low emission zones as well! |

Black wolf- it’s fine, lights up very well on pallet wood! And yes as a historic vehicle I can go in any low emission zone.
Co1 - I generally park it where I want, wheel clamps don’t fit!! 🤭 |

Wood is not carbon extracted from underground, therefor not adding to global warming and thus seen as green. They are running whole power plant on that stuff now.
You are the future of (external) combustion motorized transport! |
