Alarm & Locking Issue
A work friend has a brand new 110 County SW. She has only had it for a few weeks and the alarm keeps going off randomly, for no apparent reason.

Today, she tried to lock it with the keyfob and the central locking unlocks itself within like 2 seconds of it being locked and sets off the alarm. If she locks it with the key, again it unlocks itself within a few seconds and the horn goes off. Result - Defender can't be locked.

Does anyone have any suggestions???

The car thinks one of the doors is open. Is the bonnet closed properly?

Aye, bonnet is the first thing she had a look at. Opened it and gave it a good bang shut. Doesn't explain why central locking is locking then instantly opening.

Sticky door buttons? WD40 them and work up and down.
Or bonnet switch not contacting properly....Bend fixing tag slighty?

I had exactly the same problem with mine - a faulty door switch, got sorted by the dealer.

Had this with mine and I had to change the central locking actuator in the drivers door.
