does the plug that comes with it connect straight into vehicle. and if so where too. Any help appriciated.

The socket on my Puma is under the fuse box cover beneath the steering wheel.. ... ,-------,

However when you plug it in to the socket it sticks out and stops the fuse box cover closing, the socket can be pushed out of the fuse box chassis and then scan gauge can be plugged in but the speaker needs to be removed if your hands are any bigger than a 1 year olds as there is very little clearance between fuse box chassis and the lower dash. One day I will get around to buying a Y splitter, that means the scan gauge can stay plugged in when it is time for a service. 130 Puma HCPU with an Artica 240LR Demountable Camper

Being too lazy to move the ODB-port, I just unscrewed the little bracket that holds the ODB-port, then by "shaving" a little plastic off the scangauge connector I was able to push it thru the hole far enough for the fuse cover to close.
Sure the plastic moulding on the scangauge connector looks a bit knackered but that does not impair the function. /FG |

More simple, I made an opening in the plastic fuse cover box with a cutter, very easy to plug or unplug the OSBD connector.

After reading many positive feedback I finally bought the Scangauge II. I will install it next week end.
About the configuration, with the 2.4 Puma engine do I need to select Fuel Type "Diesel A" or "Diesel B" ? |

What I did was to feed the OBDII cable behind the drivers speaker, and feed it up onto the top of the dash where the scangauge is mounted on a window sucker. As to the OBDII connection, if you plug it in and then use a torx screwdriver to remove the OBDII socket securing screw, you can then push the whole complete unit further into the fusebox to allow the fusebox cover to be refitted. It does bulge very slightly but as it is out of view it does not bug me. It is then easy to reseat the connector as you use the scangauges plug to manoeuvre it back into position so the screw can be refitted before unplugging the OBDII connection. If you do use a Y lead, remember to unplug the connection in the back of the scangauge before plugging any diagnostic gear into the other plug on the y lead.
