The large brackets (EVL104360) incorporate the 2 point lap belt for the center seat. Maybe that option (not the safest) was later removed?
The larger bracket as two mounting holes, but only one has back nut while the other is just a through hole (bolt and nut required). When I changed my bracket for the same reason there was only one bolt and I added the additional bolt-nut for good measure. Both are approved so I would think both would be allowed by your average OCD local Swiss Tester. |

Which bolts did you use? I am needing to replace my brackets and both bolts - ebay has plenty of brackets but they are all boltless! |

I used the same size bolt from my extensive defender bolt and nut collection. The new bracket came with one bolt that threads into a captive nut. M10 I recall. The hole is already there in the bracket and seatbox so it was a 2 min job.

Yeah M10 normally flange head bolt with a 15mm hex though. These tend to have thread locker on them so can be tight to get off.
