Brake disc & calliper / pad setup?
Hi folks,

Just noticed something and not sure if it's odd or not...

Car had been sat in the wet for a couple of days so the usual bit of surface rust had accumulated on the discs - nothing to worry about but it made clear that the callipers/pads are very much only making contact with a small part of the disc. (see pic below)

I know the P400e has the big discs from e.g. the V8 but does is this really how it's supposed to be?

Anyone else got the same / different?

Something wrong there I think. Here’s a pic of one of my front discs:

Interesting - a few random pics from the internet suggest the same.

If you get a moment, could you send over a pic of your callipers? Possibly I have the right callipers (how could they get that wrong?!) but just the wrong pads or something…

Might take a wheel off for a closer look… Cheers, David

Hope these help, not easy to get good shots. Bear in mind this is the V8:

Are both discs the same?

Any news David? Am curious to know what the issue turns out to be.

Am investigating a bit further - could just be that gentle braking only clears part of the disc area.

Am seeing what luck a bit of more “aggressive” braking has over a bit of time. Cheers, David
