How do you use your Ultragauge?
Hello folks,

I've just picked up one of these little gadgets and had the briefest of plays with it yesterday. They've obviously been around for a while and they're mentioned in numerous posts across the forum but I thought I'd try and distill the collective experience in one thread. So, to that end, how do people use their Ultragauges? For example, which combination of individual gauges to you find most useful, day to day? Where and how have you got it mounted and what have you done with the cable? Any other tips and tricks to get the best out of them? Any problems?

Looking forward to your replies Smile Darren

Not UltraGauge specific, but on the BAS app I like to display
-Intake 1 (air temp at airfilter)
-Intake 2 (air temp post intercooler)
-Soot Mass (calculated in DPF)
-Coolant temp
-RPM
-Commanded EGR value (its always at zero% because of the tune)
-Manifold absolue pressure
-Calculated load value

Interesting. Why do you want to see those values, in particular? The EGR value seems odd if you know that it'll always be zero. Darren

I had a play with one for a few weeks - ended up sacking it off. Rgds.

I use the ScanGauge permanently fitted, to display Boost MAP, Oil Temp, MPG, Intake air temp.
I chose it because it was discrete, can be fitted around the steering wheel cowling & I have the ability to read/clear error codes if they pop up.

Either option adds useful metrics from the puma ECU.

I'm building my own Scangauge thingy based on Arduino.

Current thinking is that it will show: Battery voltage, engine temp, ambient temp, EGT, DPF load, EGR.
