lf it was a fault, it will be logged and the dealer will be able to read the code.
l doubt there's any other way that you'll find out why it happened. |

I just had the same thing.
I'd done a remote start, got in, forgot it was running already and turned off the car. Restarted it immediately and selected reverse - no steering. It felt like the steering lock was stuck on. A quick off and on again sorted the issue. Weird. Did you find it was still steerable 9but without power assistance)? Or was the wheel completely stuck? I didnt force mine too hard, assuming it was a steering lock glitch. |

A friend of mine just had this in her brand new ffrr (been to the dealers 4 times since November - not great for a £120k car). Stopped at lights. Went to pull away on green and couldn’t turn left - had to just drive straight on. https://instagram.com/bentheoandrews

I didn't try to heave the steering wheel as it was very resistant to being moved and didn't experiment further. I haven't tried to repeat the exercise and no faults seem to have registered. Glad I'm not the only one to have had this. 2020 Defender 110 SE 240D: Fuji White. 2011 Freelander 2 SD4 HSE 2007 Freelander2 HSE (man) |
