2015 Defender 90 Puma 2.2 Landmark LE Montalcino Red

Any recommendations

Hi everyone I’m having great difficulty in getting replacement tyres for my 2015 Landmark 90
It’s currently got Goodyear Wrangler MTR 235/85 16
These seem now to be impossible to find anywhere! Can anyone recommend a replacement i value any advice that you’ve got. My Defender is used for the main part on tarmac roads, I work for the nhs and it’s used in the community. Thank you for any advice given.

BFG would be my go to DEFENDER 90 TDCI XS,

Michelin Latitude Cross was my choice because the vehicle is used mainly on the road and driven occasionally on farm tracks. Found them good in both situations.

Another vote here for michelin latitude cross, very pleased with the ones I have fitted to mine. 2004 Defender 90 Td5 CSW

2012 Defender 110 Puma 2.2 SW Orkney Grey

I have General Grabber AT3 which I am finding much better on the road than the BFG KO2 I had previously. Cheaper and quieter too.

Just to add to your confusion/choices;
A couple of weeks ago I fitted a set of 'Davanti Terratoura a/t - 265/75 r16' and I've found them to be excellent ( so far).
They're good on wet/slushy roads and also the light off road use they've had.

And they're relatively cheap 👍👍👍 2002 Land Rover 110 Td5 Utility

I've had those Wranglers too, factory fitted and went with BFG KO2s 265/75/16 after 3 or 4 years. Not impressed, especially not on wet surfaces. I trusted the Wranglers more. My personal conclusion: I think 235mm is the ideal width for a 90 tyre.

I'll second the AT3's. They're an excellent all round tyre and winter rated, too. Darren

90’s have always driven better fitted with 235/85 compared to 265/75

I've always had toyo open country 285/75R 16s, really pleased with them. Must be close to 5 years old now.

I've recently moved from some old and worn Michelins to the GoodYear Wranglers - I was struggling to find anyone with available stock in 235/85/16 for almost any all terrain tyre.

In the end I was recommended Costco tyres - great price and fairly trouble free experience. You have to pay up front and then they ship the tyres to your chosen site. From a quick check of their site it looks like they still have them at the same price - might be worth trying.

Great upgrade, good grip, noise and ride.

While my usual preference is a bit more Carlos Fandango, I had a set in 235 85 16 on mine when I got it and I have to say they were faultless.

I have Falken Wildpeak A/t3 on my 110 and they have been great in the wet

I think that with the larger contact patch you get with 265 and the load on each wheel you are starting to see the contact pressure with the ground drop off and thus available lateral grip.

When you've made your choice, may I suggest shop around for the best Price, then compare that
to buying from this supplier, getting them shipped to you and then getting the Tyre's Fitted and
Balanced at your best local shop.

I've gone down this Route for both our 90, 110 and Caravan each timing saving enough...
to make it worth it.
