Missing software version
My new P400e was delivered on Saturday and everything was as expected apart from the fact that the Alexa icon is missing on the Privi screen. I thought it might be due to the software version and when I checked that it stated that I was up-to-date but strangely the version number was blank.

Any ideas folks? The supplying dealer is looking into it.

I don't think it shows the version number until its done an update - The Powerful Uk video with their 90 had the same thing.

Also, the Alexa icon won’t show on the Pivi Home Screen until you’ve set it up - which is hidden away in the menus somewhere https://instagram.com/bentheoandrews

I’ve setup all the required accounts, looks like I need to wait for an update, as per Powerful UK’s video.

I seemed to remember that the Alexa icon appeared after a particular software update on my last Defender. Can’t remember which one though. I shall wait patiently.

The Alexa update was in the summer or autumn of 2022, all cars leave the factory with the latest software available which sometimes a new car will have a version that hasn’t yet gone out in OTA updates. Once the rest of us have caught up with you and then you have got the next version after that you will have a new version number showing on the screen. Keep a watch on the forums as often there isn’t anything broadcast by LR that they are sending out an update, sometimes they don’t even give release notes too. You will know if an update is waiting for download when a little blue spot appears in the top right of the Pivi screen where the head and shoulders icon is. Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come
2020 D240 1st Edition in Pangea Green with Acorn interior. Now gone - old faithful, no mechanical issues whatsoever ever but the leaks and rattles all over the place won’t be missed!

My car was built this year so I’d expect it to have the Alexa app given it was deployed In software in 2022.

Have you switched Alexa on in the settings menu - note NOT the Apps list but the Settings menu - see below how to do it

I don’t use Alexa anywhere but…….. just been out to my car and it isn’t in the apps if you tap on the little squares icon bottom right of the screen BUT it is in the SETTINGS if you tap on the cog icon bottom left of the screen, scroll down to apps there and it comes up in the list there, tap on it there and that is where you set it up. You have to “switch it on” in the settings menu to get it to appear in the other Apps display when you tap in the lower right of the Home Screen. I have it permanently switched off as she interrupts way too often and is nothing but a dangerous distraction.

Thanks, Tim.

I’ll take a look once I’ve consumed my morning caffeine intake....

I know Alexa isn’t everyone’s cup of tea but I used it a lot on my last Defender to select music from my Amazon music library. 2019 Range Rover SDV8 Autobiography

Maybe LR ran out of Alexa icons like they ran out of USB ports and sunglasses holders

Looks like you are going to have to take the car into the dealers to hook it up and manually download the update. My new car arrives in a couple of weeks time so before I hand over any money I’ll add that to the checklist of things that might be missing even though I don’t need it, it should be there.. I would suggest that you print out my dash photos when you visit the dealers

As an aside I got an email from the sales people at my dealer ad using me that all L663 Defenders are now coming with “An enhance Interactive Driver Display” - sounds to me like they are trying to mis-describe the Analogue dash…………. Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come

It’s at the main dealers on Saturday to have some Classic mud flaps fitted. I’ll ask them to undertake a software update whilst it’s in.

Reference your comment on the IDD, mine has the full digital display. 2019 Range Rover SDV8 Autobiography

Well the sage of my missing Alexa continues.

Land Rover Incontrol techys have been asking me to carry out a number of actions all of which have failed to resolve the issue so far. These have included deleting my profile and re-adding it and a Privi reboot.

When I sign in to my Incontrol account on my PC I can see Alexa as an available app but when I try to connect to it I get the following screen.
