Depends what size you are looking for, most of the larger sizes are only K rated (68mph), the smaller ones are Q or R

All of the sizes and the speed ratings are here:

A lot of the 18s are only 68mph.

Even back in 1985 that wasn't an acceptable speed limit.

I have 17inch modulars and they seem to have a different rating.

Just be aware that K ratings mean they are only legal to 68mph max speed

I have some older 265/75/16 Cooper STT pro's and they're Q rated, but can't understand why the newer variants remain K rated.

Yes, you do have to question what do they know about their tyres, their own specifications and testing, that only gives a 68mph speed rating?

Or you can pay less for another manufacturer's Q rated tyre that's OK for 99mph.

Running tyres that have a lower speed rating than specified for your vehicle could cause your insurer to not pay out a claim. So you also need to check with your insurer that they are happy with you running tyres that are below the manufactures specification for your vehicle. The same can be said for the load index as well.

Not questioning their expertise, more why they didn't re-produce a Q rated offering as they previously did (or maybe they did, it just seems nobody wants to offer it?). Afterall their scriptures detail they're much improved over the prior iterations.

If its an option for you, the BFG KM's (265/75/16) I have on another Landy are Q rated and my replacement wheels / tyres on BFG 285/60/18 albeit all terrain are S rated!

Very good point re: insurance!
