I've bought a set of wheels from Ebay with off-road tyres. They do not have TPMS fitted so the tyre pressure warning light is now permanently on (not a problem really).
BUT I would like TPMS so I will fit them when I take the tyres off. I have a 23.5 110 Dynamic X MY23.5 (delivered in November). Problem is I am getting different messages from vendors regarding which are the correct ones. PowerfulUK from several months ago say that the following should work (as does the vendor recently). https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/373572256387?mk...name=11051 However another vendor says these are the ones. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/324780255323?ha...R7Tcw7rFYQ Any ideas who is correct? |

It looks like it depends on chassis number as to which one is correct but both may fit. I have the black plastic ones on my set of wheels and I broke one of them when I repaired a puncture. My tyre fitter friend had one of the silver stem ones on his van so I borrowed it so I could get away and I was going to purchase one of the black plastic ones to replace it when I could. But the silver stem one works perfectly so I just gave him the money for it. Cheers Ian

Hi Simon
I fitted a new set of alloys last week, and added TPMS to avoid the issues you describe. I bought the TPMS pictured below after getting the advert checked by a friend who works for JLR to verify there were the correct ones for my MY23, and that they were genuine. The tyre fitter fitted the valves when building the wheels up, and on the first quick run they were reading correctly - they come ready to go from ebay. Well worth the £105 outlay. Thanks everyone. I've checked the oroginal wheels and they do have the black stem ones. So I'll get a set of these!

Just be careful when fitting, they can be a bit fragile! Cheers Ian

Yep my old wheels had black stems and new ones are silver, so as Dan suggests, both will work |

I can confirm this, having snapped one off whilst checking the pressures on a loan RRS last year. Do TPMS sensors need programming to the car?
Reading the advert on the first post from EBay it looks as though they need to be programmed. I’ve bought some elsewhere so am now wondering if they need to be or not. Anyone have any idea please. First Edition 90 in Pangea Green. (Gone) P400 110 in Tasman Blue. |

No if they are genuine ones, just fit them and maybe drive for 10 mins and the car should recognise them Cheers Ian

Thanks. I’ll fit them and give it a go then.
They are genuine LR and still in the packet so fingers crossed. The tyre fitter today was adamant that it was a LR visit to get these working as they need to be programmed. They say LR070840 First Edition 90 in Pangea Green. (Gone) P400 110 in Tasman Blue. |

Well, I had fitted the sensors and went off for a half hour drive to get the car to talk to them with no luck. Went out again for another good run and still no joy
So moved on to play with the IID and cleared all the faults and hey presto they then red all 4 wheels It had a warning saying rear right is low and others a bit out. Checked them all and lowered the two fronts which had been set to high after the tyre shop fitted the sensors. Took it for another run to let them adjust etc and nothing I’m now almost thinking that the results shown on the dash are from when I took the alloys off as the rear right was reading low then I had a look on the live values with the IID and it bought them up but the figures didn’t match at all what was on the dash Went for another drive to let it all do its thing and still nothing. Any ideas guys First Edition 90 in Pangea Green. (Gone) P400 110 in Tasman Blue. |

When I fitted my new steel wheels the system didn't recognise them at first as like you is was showing that one of my rear tyres were low and I knew that was the tyre that was low on my original set. When I set off driving I had the yellow warning light on the dash but after about 10 minutes the warning disappeared and my tyre pressures were showing the correct pressures all round. Not sure what else to suggest, somebody had told me that the tpms valves would be in a 'sleep state' and I would need a dealer visit to 'wake' them up but when I mentioned this to my tyre guy he just laughed and said that was a load of rubbish and just go for a drive and they would work, which they did Cheers Ian

I’m off on a weeks holidays next week so they’ll have plenty of time to talk hopefully
I do feel a little jinxed with them as the tyre guy found a nail in one of my Brand new AT tyres on the new Steel wheels and said it’s to close to the edge to re[air First Edition 90 in Pangea Green. (Gone) P400 110 in Tasman Blue. |

I've changed loads of wheels and tyres in the past with no issues. Never had to go to the dealer to re set or wake anything up. Just drive the car and everything sorts its self out. 130's have feeling's as well you know
