Thanks for the replies. I've toured France and Spain many times before but never camping.
I now know I do not need to set off with two weeks of gas. |

Definitely not You will also find that some campsites and service stations have a supply of gas as well.
Love camping through France and Spain. Highly recommend the Chateaux campsites, they are a bit more expensive but the amenities are excellent and some of them offer fresh croissants in the morning When you go don't forget the backroads books |
