I am also confused with this HERE navigation settings and I also haven't found a satisfying setting yet either.
Last week on a ride home even then such scenarios as shown here occurred. Click image to enlarge A somewhat " strange" route guidance. Thanks Land Rover for this "mature" AI! ... that is probably in any respect not yet in the "goal" Regards To finish first, you first have to finish! |

This doesn't appear to have been fixed. Driving in France over Christmas apparently the Autoroute was Closed (it wasn't) and wanted to take me on a 60km detour.
In addition, the route back home included a random detour somewhere north on Reims on the A26. Any other examples? |

When going from Wales to Cornwall, sat nav always directs me along the m4 to Almondsbury then down the M5, it never directs me down the m49. Although on the way home it does. It's next to useless where we live as tries every farm track around

LR sat nav has never been great, I gave up using it a long time ago. Every trip through France the nav would try to get me off the motorway at every town/city go through the town and get me back on the motorway. I use google maps. 130's have feeling's as well you know

If it’s any consolation I upgraded to full pro nav on my last BMW and had all the above issues too.
Waze app is the way forward. Ha see what I did there….. By the time car manufacturers have ‘created’ their tech and actually been built it’s already 2 years out of date. Phone app via CarPlay/android is the way forward, manufacturer cannot compete. |

I used to have this issue with both my last RRS and my Mini Countryman’s navigation - solved it by putting it into “learn” mode then there was a software update after a service and the problem of going up the motorway slip round around the roundabout and back down the other sliproad back onto the motorway disappeared. Just use Carplay. Works a treat and you can use a variety of mapping software.

Except it doesn't work with the head up display.
But I agree, the system is not good, i’ve driven on lots of routes I know with the nav on, mainly for arrival time and it will send you on the most ridiculous back roads, B roads, housing estates etc etc and stick 40 mins (or whatever) on a journey. D300 110 X Gondwana Stone |

l've never used the built in nav, except for the odd times when my phone doesn't pair with the vehicle.
l use Google Maps, not bothered about it not appearing on the screen on front of me. |

The Navi used to be reasonable untill some OTA updates which maked it very poor.
One of the best functions disapeared around last quarter of 2021. Google Maps satellite on IDD and on the Pivi screen the Roadmap. That was perfect offroad. Simon did make a menu of the Navi - Here.. As you can see a lot of settings are gone.
