[Wanted] anyone have a 2002 TD5 Radio Cassette Player?
The radio cassette player in my 110 will no longer accept a radio code and is therefore kaput. (The car was stolen and left in a field for 6 months with a dead battery). Does anyone have a decent one for sale complete with 4-digit code?
The standard radio fitted to this model year was a VDO with part number XQD000050PMA. Many thanks.

Wasn't there a trick some years back of leaving the stereo in a freezer for a few days to flatten the ECU memory battery and clearing any faults off of it?

Could be worth a try

I suspect you can get a code from one of the online code calculators. Though cost vs value is certainly something to be aware of.

I like the freezer idea, but suspect that you may just end up with a dead stereo

Thanks everyone for their thoughts. I took the plunge and bought an Alpine radio/CD player online for £90 instead. Seemed to be the quickest way to get to a solution and although it's not 100% correct for the year it's similar to the head units fitted to Pumas. What a shame not to be able to use the original even though I have the original code - might try the freezer idea - nothing to lose at this stage!
