The above discussion covered this topic but with no evidence based resolution. I am convinced it was the introduction of the totally ridiculous Traction Control and ABS to the 130’s Click image to enlarge 130 Puma HCPU with an Artica 240LR Demountable Camper |

Are you trying to get yours increased or decreased?
I got my unimog downplated to 3500kg from 4400kg without much trouble. |

I've done a little digging on this in the past as I was hoping to get my TD5 130 (3500kg currently) plated at 3800kg or more.
I spoke to a few companies and it was relatively simple to get it plated to the combination of the axle weights. To go higher would have been difficult for a TD5. There was discussion of Sailsbury axles being able to take additional weight but I wasn't prepared to swap out axles. |

Need a 3500 one, trying to find cut off age, so seems 2012 ish. If later will need uplift which 8 have heard is not too tricky. Thank you for replies. Cheers

What's the advantage of up-plating?? Are you planning on building a heavier over land type vehicle??

You could try Foleys too - they’ll know and process of applying for higher gvw for their 130 conversions.

Not a 130 but I did have a 110 TD5 pickup, before it got nicked, which I had a tipper back fitted.
I just sent the log book off to the DVLA with an increase in GVW from 3050kg to 3500kg, log book came back a few weeks later with the 3500kg GVW. I then got a blank VIN plate and re-stamped the info on it. I did fit a pair of HD rear springs and a anti roll bar. The MOT class went from class 4 to class 7 and made no difference to the insurance. |
