The 07 onwards defenders have ISOFIX attachments on the middle row of seats so best getting a seat to work with these.

No Isofix that I could find - And I looked!
We used a MaxiCosi CabrioFiix for the baby, which worked well (and slotted into the buggy we had) and now a MaxiCosi Rodi XP, which should last him until he's 8 or 9. Can heartily recommend MaxiCosi. There are other brands, many of which have great features, but after trying several, MC seems to be the easiest to use, and gets lots of recommendations in magazines. No problems that I can see with an infant/child in the back of the 110. My son loves it! 2010 110 XS USW (the slow one) 1960 Alfa Romeo Giulietta SZ (the fast one) 2005 Ducati ST3 1954 Sunbeam S8 |

(I was told there are no ISOfix in 110s).
In our 90 we used a Jane baby carrier (part of a buggy set) in the front, which was very good - it's easier to put child in/out of the front in a 90... It also lay flat in the rear of our Golf for long night-time journeys. Now moved on to a rear-facing Britax Multi-Tech II (which I think is the rear-facing version of the Evolva). We've put that in the back, as it has straps that have to be fitted to the seat rails in front. Although he's rear-facing, he has good views out the side and back from there. Want to change to a 110 (or similar) when we can afford to though. |

there arent ISOFIX in a Def.
just buy a good name (Britax) that suits your wallet, provides what it needs to and allows for growth once they are in fwd facing. for the rear facing carry things, get a light weight one in addition to the above. Yeah - it's a shame there isn't - and quite surprising as they could have added them in '07 with the new seats... Guess we won't see them in a 'Defender' until 2015 now! |

We have one of these in the BM - we thought it was too "deep" for the 110 - does yours fit?! I did loads of research and bought one before they took off here - imported it from Sweden at a comedy price - doh! Does take up a lot of space but definitely safe. And yep - it's the same basic design as an Evolva but with the extra support leg and a few others bits. Cost us 3x more for the Multi Tech!! Defender 110XS SW gone... now VW California 180 4 Motion. |

Hi DotE, couldn't tell you if it fits the middle seats in a 110, as ours is a 90...
It's on the rear tip-up, behind the front passenger seat - which still has enough room for the missus to use (be a bit tight for me though!) I don't know how the rear leg room on the middle row seats in a 110 compares to that in the rear of a 90? I hope it does fit in a 110 - let me know if you try it, as we may change to one in the future? The Multi Tech still has to be 'dealer-fitted' first time (which is why you can't buy them online), as it's slightly more complicated than a normal forward facing, but once you get your 'training' obviously you can take it in and out yourself. We ended up getting two the same, as we'd have the whole guilt thing of putting him in the 'less-safe' seat in one car or the other! (Silly I know, but there you go). I understand it's now law in Scandinavia for kids to be rear-facing until 4yrs - that law may come here in time, and the prices will fall accordingly. It's the only seat that Volvo recommend, they sell the Britax - rebranded. Recaro do one, and I think MaxiCosy too. It's still expensive but less if you buy two(!) Got ours from the place in Swindon that is licenced to sell them - they were very helpful - the chap spent best part of an hour sweating away on one of the hottest days, trying it in every position in the LR! (It was the first Defender they'd had in). PS - for anyone else reading this who is also at the same point in seat buying, it's also turns around to be forward facing when you want it to be, and covers Groups 1-2-3, which helps justify the spend! |

Ads - legroom for middle row of seats in a 110 is MUCH tighter than for the rear seats of a 90 SW. I very much doubt our Multi Tech would fit - it barely fits in the BM which definitely has more legroom! Even a forward facing Evolva is tight.
If you had the third row of seats, I imagine space would be better - ours is a 5 seat version with a HUGE rear boot (didn't want a 7 seater). We bought our Multi-Tech a few years ago before they became known over here - bro in law is married to a Swedish girl and they all swear by them! Defender 110XS SW gone... now VW California 180 4 Motion. |
