As above.
Make sure you get the right version for your engine, plus gasket. I would also strongly recommend that you buy a small torque wrench to fit the FPR as it is remarkably easy to deform the gasket by over tightening it. |

I used the X8R repair kit, it came with a genuine regulator and the rest of the gubbins. It took about an hour to fit on the driveway and its been on for about 3k miles and no issues.
You'll need a 3/8th and a load of different sized extensions and a 0-60nm tq wrench and a bucket of brake cleaner. |

allmakes are ok or bearmach or a branded one will last longer.
the kits dont seem to last well or even work from the start. double check the tiny o'rings are ok and you the correct one for your engine |

Use only LR gasket. I had few repairs, when aftermaket gaskets just didnot work. Because the original gasket is cheap, there is no need to use some aftermarket with questinable quality. "Drobek" = The Small One - Discovery 2, "Blufínek" = The Blue Thing - Defender 130, and for me at least Ford Mondeo

I can also vouch for the X8R repair kit. I did mine 3 years ago due to a leak (coupled with a leaking rocker cover gasket = messy) and it has been perfectly fine since then.

The X8R kits seem to get the best write-up. I purchased one for my TD5 but then found a new genuine FPR for £40 more (eBay bargain find) so ended up replacing the whole thing and thankfully no more leaks!

I can thoroughly endorse the X8R repair kit. It comes with a Bosch FPR included, & good quality O rings & gaskets (covers both early & late FPR units). I have had 10,000Km or so out of this kit, & no problems at all. Cheers, Lionel |
