Thanks a lot for all your advice, I finally bought a longer wrench and it made the job !

Nearly one week to remove a screw... I feel a bit stupid but that's another lesson learned !

And that guess that wasn't the hardest step in the leaking steering box fix story !

Thanks to your advice I'm also preparing my girlfriend to help me fit back the steering box Laughing

When I did the steering box on my 100" Bitsa, I put a strap around the box and got my (then) 11 year old daughter to hold the box from the top whilst I positioned it from underneath - I told her it was strength training for her black belt!

I had replaced once single handed. I used some wooden wedge between the chassis and the box to support its weight until I aligned and got the first bolt on. Than it was just a matter of levering from the drop arm to align the next bolts. Cant remember if I used a strap or used one of the hydraulic connections to prevent the box from falling over.

More recently I re installed the box, but not having the mudguard in the way made the job so easy. 1988 90 Hard Top, 19J Diesel Turbo, Shire Blue - Restoration ongoing
