Mud flaps

Can anyone tell me if fitting the "classic" mud flaps requires any drilling of the bodywork as l've asked for them to be fitted but don't want them if this is the case.

I had them fitted to my van, the brackets clamped on the wheel arches and sills, causing more issues than than the mud flaps themselves prevented.

Drilling is all into a plastic bit of trim - not the bodywork...

Thanks l don't mind about the plastic trim because that's not going to cause corrosion in the long term.

There's no rush. Next year will be fine, in which case l will fit them myself.

I no longer get stressed about this kind of thing. Spent too long shouting at parts suppliers! Have to get the vehicle first, which means securing the sale of my old Defender

I was thinking of fitting aftermarket... but it got a bit involved for someone without a driveway..

I had a chat with the LR Experience guys earlier this week. They indeed confirmed that they dont add mudflaps because they can be torn off when reversing up steps/over boulders.
