Input from Ken and K9F would be interesting here ..
Ken has gone LED - they look good, seem to have hight light output and low(er) power requirements K9F has huge filament spots, personally I've not seen how well these perform but i would imagine they could be seen from the orbiting space station. other things to consider ... > how many spot lights > where are you going to mount them (will you get reflection from roof mounted on your bonnet) > can you get stone guards .. the bigger the spotlight, the more likely you will get a stone hit |

BP , A bar mounted would normally mean 2
We have Lightforce 170 ones mounted on bumper of red 110. Yes they have withstood gravel rash and being regularly dunked in water. They have a polycarb protective cover on. However on roof light bar have glass fronted IPF and they have succumbed to gravel rash. Just remember to be legal for road use additional driving lights they have to be wired through the main beam switch. However there are certain advantages in having additional lights wired on a separate circuit, ok not road legal but does give you a back up circuit. Brendan |

Burn the retinas from your eyes Lightforce 240 XGTs. Worth remembering lights are also only as good as the quality of the relectors. Lightforce are very good, wherther you go for 170s or larger I can assure you 'candella for £' you will not be disappointed. Once you go into HID territory the price difference can be amazing! For my 240s ballpark £300 a pair - same size HID £1000!!!!! If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!

One thing to take into consideration is that with some sizes the depth of the spotlight will make it stick out beyond the A-bar. If a taller car reverses too close onto your car the spotlights will take the brunt of the force.
I choosed the Lightforce 170s for that reason. I got mine with 70W xenons - quite expensive but there's really nothing wrong with the light output /FG |

lightforce lights very good quality even though they are plastic i currently have 140's and they are perfect size for what i want i wouldnt go bigger than a 170 on a a bar as 140 and 170 looks in proportion thats my opinion anyway

I agree with you! But for the price of the HIDs I could buy three sets of the same size normal Lightforces??? Cost for HIDs is for me prohibitive, you need really deep pockets and the justification of spending three times as much just wasn't and still isn't there! HID 35W £512:51 for one lamp....240 size HID 50W £689:08 for one lamp....240 size 100 Watt Xenophot.....£166:80 for one lamp....240 size As stated for me it's an absolute 'no brainer' whatsoever!
