Possibly not the best start
The Defender 90 Commercial l ordered has arrived, and very nice it is too.

However when l went to look at it the back door wouldn't open. The salesman said it just needed "programming, that's how they arrive"

He's a decent guy, l hope he's telling the truth and there's not electrical issues before l even take delivery!

He could be right I suppose. Mine sometimes needs a couple of goes with the latch to release the door. That’s with the car locked and the key in my pocket.

Issues so far have been one wiper washer not working, simple re route of the pipe by me to fix, rattle from emergency triangle receptacle cover, anti rattle tape sorted that, and bonnet not releasing. Working around the bonnet issue by propping the lever up while I push briefly down on the front of the bonnet. Will probably live with this until its service in March/April.

It did make me smile when I noticed LR had a 'plastic bung' on the passengers door next to the bonnet release handle.

Yes I thought ........ that's for the American market. Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter

They put them in transport mode I believe, only the drivers door can be opened.

Ah yes, also commonly known as service mode so the dealer can’t access the boot if I recall. Ride like you stole it!!

Well that's good to know, nothing wrong with it then.

Just need to buy it now, four days left to get a buyer for my 110 or l have to let the new one go and re-order it.

Had three people want to buy the 110 so far and all have backed out for various reasons.

I sold mine to a place called Junction Autopark which wouldn't be a million miles from you in Llandudno. Sold it via Motorway but when he saw it said he'd have paid more for it if I'd gone direct and said if I ever had anything else to sell to give him a bell first. He picked it up on a trailer towed by a nice new 110. https://instagram.com/bentheoandrews

My favourite quirk!

Firstly, the fact they must have had some interesting accidental bonnet release issues..
Secondly the fact they solved it, not by moving the catch, but by creating this fun door nodule solution.
Finally, the fact they have to do it on both sides.
